Letter M

I am bling-blinging my craft room! ha.. ( i love to make up words). I still need more decoration on the walls!
You can see the beautiful brown I painted the room. I painted this paper mache letter "M" brown and pink, of course! I love the way it turned out! I gave it several coats of paints so it has this really cool look! Kind of distressed, blurry and beautiful!

I forgot to tell you! My wonderful husband bought me a camera this weekend! Its a great camera! So today, I was testing the camera and took these great photos of my letter M. I love sepia and black & white! Did they come out great or what? I might even make a print out of one of these to frame!

Antique Store?

I was kind of bored Saturday morning I decided to drive around and visit local stores close to my house. I drove for a good 10 minutes down Main St. and found a great Antique store. I've been living here for almost a year and I did not know about this store! Im glad I found it! :)
I decided to stop by, not to buy anything but only to look around. Well guess what? I ended up buying two beautiful pieces. The best part, they were less than $10!

The first piece I bought is this beautiful shabby chic candle holder. It was originally $10 with 40% off, so I got it for only $6! I couldn't believe it! Its a good size candle holder too! I love the look on this candle holder, but it doesn't really match my other decoration around the house. So, you guessed it, spray paint time!

The second item I bought is this beautiful clock stand! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I seriously ran across the store to get it before someone else did! ha... I loved it so much once I saw the clock, it seemed the ladies around me saw it at the same time and wanted the clock too. Thanks to my long run, I got it! I was a little scared at first thinking, this must be a fortune! When I saw the price I couldn't believe it! It was only $10!
I am not kidding, I walked for about an hour around the store, and every 5 minutes I would look at the price tag just to make sure I was reading it correctly! I thought, maybe they wanted to write $100! It was only $10 though!

I still don't have a place for my clock stand but when I was looking where to place it, I realized I have several clocks around the house. I think I am in love with clocks!
Here are a few pictures of some of the clocks I have.

This was originally a clock, but I am using it for something else!

Just wanted to throw in a picture of our new baby palm tree! Isn't it cute?

Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!

I am hooked on before and after projects

I joined the blog party @ Hooked on Houses hosted by Julia. There is so many links! Check them out!

I am hooked on before & after projects!

I love to see the creativity that people have to turn something old, not in style items into beautiful, unique modern pieces! Especially when people go to yard sales or thrift stores and buy furniture that are screaming for a new look and they turn them into unique pieces.

I have several posts of my own before and after projects! Go check them out!

Here are a few projects from other bloggers that I love!

Annicole @ Our Suburban Cottage
did a great job in her kitchen! I love the paint color she used, and the cabinets look great! I love that she doesnt have that much decoration, but it looks great!

Over @ Whatever
I found this bathroom project that I absolutely love!

Maggie @ Generally Creative
Used her closet space, as her studio! Look how cute her space looks!

Jamie @ Right at Home
turned this chair (thrift store find) into a beautiful, modern chair. She used a white slip cover, painted the legs black and added a cute pillow! I love the final result!

recovered this stool she had with zebra print. I think it turned out great!

Today I am giving away a beautifully, handcrafted, Psalm 23 bracelet. I wear my Psalm 23 bracelet as a precious reminder of the presence of the Lord in my own life.

Each Swarovski crystal represents a word in this beloved Psalm.

Please leave a comment between today and Thursday and I will announce a winner on Friday morning.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd (clear),
I shall not be in want,
He makes me lie down in green (green) pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters (blue),
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness (clear)
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death (black),
I will fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and your staff (brown),
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil (yellow);
my cup overflows (purple).
Surely goodness and love (pink)
will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord (gold) forever.

My very best to everyone who enters!!
Thanks for dropping by! :o)
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

Re-purposing old frames

I haven't had a chance to post because we have been so busy with our house projects. My husband finally finished installing the wood floor. It looks beautiful! We finished painting my craft Diva room. Now, all there is left to do is decorate and make it pretty and super organized! Ive been also working on our bedroom and bathroom. Pictures coming soon! Theres just so much to do! :)

I finally found a way to decorate my table. I love that the table is not right under the frame. Sometimes making things a little bit different turn out ok. I'm usually the kind of person that likes everything to be straight, perfect and they definitely have to match. Now, I have decoration in my living room that don't necessarily match but they look beautiful! Being different and unique is O.K.

Last weekend we went to a couple of yard sales around our neighborhood and found this pretty frame for $1. I was originally going to use the frame to decorate in our bedroom, but used it for something different. I know have it in our living room!
Its so easy to make!
Buy any size frame. Paint the frame any color you'd like. I painted mine first with a black paint, I let it dry. Then I spray painted white and let it dry. I then sanded some parts of the frame and it gave it a cool distressed look. Then decorate the glass with any embellishment you have. I used silk flowers, crystal stickers and glitter. There is so much embellishment you can use: ribbon, stickers, paper, stamps, acrylic, charms be creative! I think it turned out great! I dare you to make one! :)

I promise it wont take that long and the results will be great! This is a great way to re-purpose old frames you have around the house! I did not make the frame for these pictures. I am just waiting to get my other wedding prints.

Hope you have enjoyed this easy fun project!

Super Cute Valentines Box

I am still not feeling good but I took time to give you this great Valentines idea!

I made this cute paper box for my sister that is filled with candy and chocolates. Its easy to make but not easy to explain. So I will do my best to explain how to make it. I have included pictures for almost every step. If you decide to make one, let me know!

Supplies:

12 X 12 patterned scrapbook paper
glue stick
tulle
embellishment (flower, jewels etc)
scissors

1. Make sure you have a piece of paper that is squared.
Fold the paper in half from corner to corner.
Fold the piece in half again.

2. When you open the paper up, you should have 4 triangles.

3. Turn the paper print side face down and fold each corner to the center.

4. You should have something that looks like this! :)

5. You should see a line (fold) that goes along the middle, fold each side to the center so the paper touches the that line.

6. Once you fold both sides, it should look like this.

7. This next step is tricky. Unfold the sides. You see where I am holding the paper, you need to cut along that line and stop right after you cut the printed paper. If you use a 12 X 12 paper, you will maybe cut around 2 inches. Do this step for all 4 sides.

8. After cutting all 4 sides, fold each piece to the center. I have posted all 4 pictures that go in order.

9. Unfold the 2 flaps.

10. I used white glue because I didn't have any glue sticks at the moment. Please use glue sticks. They work much better.
Add glue to one of the flaps and glue in place.

11. Final step is to add glue to the other side and glue in place.

You would need to make another box, the same way to use as the cover.
I hope I did a good job explaining. Its much harder than I thought. I'm not feeling good, sorry! :( Hope it makes sense.

The final step is to embellish. This is a fun thing to do! Be creative! Use ribbons, buttons, rub ons, stickers, tulle, tags, pictures etc... There is so much you can do!
I used tulle ( of course), glitter and a paper flower. I added pink glitter to the flower. It looks so pretty!
I added tons of candy and chocolates inside!Perfect for Valentines! Hope my sister likes it!
I dare you to make one! :)
If you do, please post a comment. I want to check it out!
